WHAT IS CROSSFIT?
CrossFit Luminis is an independently owned and operated affiliate of Crossfit HQ (www.crossfit.com). Our program has been used by the sedentary, elderly, professional athletes, firefighters, law enforcement, military, and everyone in between. CrossFit is for anyone who is serious becoming more fit, whether their goal is to live a longer healthier life, improve their athleticism, or be better prepared for their job. As trainers, our goal is to provide an encouraging, supportive and intense atmosphere for you to become fit.
CrossFit is the principal strength and conditioning program for many police academies and tactical operations teams, military special operations units, champion martial artists, and hundreds of other elite and professional athletes worldwide.
Our program delivers a fitness that is, by design, broad, general, and inclusive. Our specialty is not specializing. Combat, survival, many sports, and life reward this kind of fitness and, on average, punish the specialist.
The CrossFit program is designed for universal scalability making it the perfect application for any committed individual regardless of experience. We’ve used our same routines for elderly individuals with heart disease and cage fighters one month out from televised bouts. We scale load and intensity; we don’t change programs.
The needs of Olympic athletes and our grandparents differ by degree not kind. Our terrorist hunters, skiers, mountain bike riders and housewives have found their best fitness from the same regimen.
CrossFit is not easy and it’s not simple. To be fit and physically competent to handle all of the challenges in life is no small endeavor. As you work to become a fitter and healthier person, you will need to learn about:
- Movement - How to move safely and effectively.
- Fitness - What it means to be fit. Its definition, the supporting theories, and how to go about attaining it in real life.
- Nutrition - Eat meat & vegetables, nuts & seeds, some fruit, little starch, and no sugar. Keep intake to levels that will support exercise, but not body fat.
Education is a big part of CrossFit. When you start, you are not expected to have the knowledge you need.
CrossFit is an education about movement, fitness, nutrition and community. All of these things require responsibility, common sense, and work to educate oneself using all the tools available in the community.

If you are someone who:
Is looking to get in shape but can’t face going to a gym
Has lost interest in your gym routine
Thinks you don’t have time to exercise
Is looking to get faster or stronger in your sport, OR
Is no longer seeing results with your current training regime
Then CrossFit is for YOU. Every workout is different, and since you will rarely do the same thing twice, you are less likely to lose interest or get bored than if you were doing the same thing at the gym three days a week. Because our workouts are rarely more than 35 minutes long they can fit into even the busiest schedules. You will see dramatic changes in their speed, strength, performance, and body composition.
Finally, CrossFit is FUN! Our coaches and participants are welcoming, supportive, and committed to creating an environment where everyone can succeed.
